Don’t get me wrong, the holidays have been filled with extraordinary moments with friends and family, those most precious to me. So much laughter has been shared and I am so thankful for the kindness I have been shown. I am happy at the idea of friends finding true love - or should I say true lust at this point?! ;). I am ecstatic and relieved my mother finally retired and will be able to enjoy her life as she pleases! I’m amazed at my sister’s resilience to the many adverse events in her life! Yes, I am thankful, as one should always be, for the positive things we so often ignore and take for granted.
The year 2012 was a full lesson plan filled with prior knowledge about life, new discoveries, trials and errors and a successful awareness of the new world around me. And a lesson plan is rarely complete without the final task, which involves a deep demonstration of what has been learned. And nothing speaks louder than actions…
With every New Year come new goals and new dreams! My goal this year is to foster kindness to strangers around me, in the hopes that they will do the same around them. The world would be such a better place if everyone learned how to be kind and understanding. And it all starts from within. If I am not kind and compassionate towards myself, how can I truly be kind and compassionate towards others? I hope you will do the same, in your own way. I hope you will hold out your hand out and offer someone something purely out of kindness and selflessness – even if it’s just a smile or a kind ear to listen to what they are trying to tell you.
I hope 2013 will be a good year for all of us. Days filled with hope, laughter, kindness, interesting projects and new beginnings. I wish you passionate moments that will lift your spirits and make you want to share the exhilaration you are experiencing! I wish you peace of heart and peace of mind… Happiness is contagious, as is kindness! How about giving a little love to the world!?
Last but not least, it wouldn’t feel right not to thank all of you readers (and you are many!). Thank you for following my blog, out of interest or mere curiosity. And as discreet as you are, you make this blog worth writing.
Happy 2013!
