When was the last time you had ham (or bacon) and eggs for breakfast? Did you ever wonder what the different was between the pig and the chicken in your plate? Well, the chicken laid the eggs and went about it's business without worrying too much about the eggs but the pig committed to your breakfast and literally put itself on the line to fulfill your morning hunger. All in all, we can say that pigs in general are committed and fully accountable of the outcome of a project or a relationship where as the chicken is involved and informed of its progress. Where am I going with this story? Well... I was thinking whether my exes had been pigs or chickens and who did I want to have my next relationship with: a pig or a chicken...??? Important question don't you think? With these younger generations, I feel there are more and more chickens around (wanting relationships that involve friendships with benefits rather than true commitment...). And I wonder... WHERE ARE THE PIGS???? Where are the partners that are willing to put themselves on the line for a relationship to work??? I know I want to be with a woman who is willing to fight for the relationship, not run the other way as soon as she is faced with adversity in the relationship or walks away the minute she comes across a younger and sexier chick! Been there, done that, don’t want to go back! I know this story about the pig and the chicken sounds pretty simplistic. Life is sometimes more complicated than a ham & eggs breakfast… or is it? Maybe we are complicating situations because we keep avoiding the basic things in life like realising who we truly are (pigs or chickens?) and what kind of partner we are looking for (another pig or chicken?). And another thing, you can’t expect to be with a pig if you’re only willing to be a chicken!!!! I know that in some past relationships, I expected my girlfriends to commit to me and our relationship but I didn’t realise I wasn’t quite ready to do the same!!!! Being aware of what you are willing to give in a relationship is as important as knowing what you want from it!!! Maybe I’m thinking and analysing things too much but I hope that at least all this makes some sense to you. Happy Sunday! Ally L. |
